Lovell Camps operates a cosy Mountain Lodge in Schönried, a traditional Swiss alpine village in the snow-blanketed ski resort of Gstaad.
A dazzling array of adrenaline-pumping ski runs crisscrosses this spectacular high-altitude zone, with thrilling trails catering to beginners and experts alike. The sprawling resort boasts 53 lifts servicing 220km of well-groomed slopes, as well as sledding runs and snowshoe trails.
Sitting between 1,000 and 3,000 metres, Gstaad is famous for its consistent snowfall. Snow guns line the main trails to guarantee a thick, soft layer at all times.
The Mountain Lodge, 600m from the train station and cable car in Gstaad, offers lodging for 2-6 people in 18 rooms and two group rooms for ten. All rooms have en-suite facilities.
School Info
With over 40 years of experience, Lovell Camps has become Switzerland’s most sought-after winter camp institution. All Children aged 4 to 15 are welcome to attend, regardless of nationality.
The organisation runs three programmes from mid-December through to the beginning of April: a traditional ski camp, the Lovell Academy, and ski trips for schools and groups.
At the ski camp, participants must stay for at least one week and may remain as long as they like. The Lovell Academy programme includes a bespoke academic syllabus and runs for 11 weeks.
Around 15 day campers attend the program from 9:00 am to 5:30 pm each day.
A cosy dining room, a well-equipped kitchen, and a spacious outdoor terrace/play area give campers all the comforts of home. In-between skiing sessions, the kids can use the cinema room and high-speed Wi-Fi.
Lovell Camps allocates one counsellor per boarding room and one ski instructor per seven students.
Winter Programs
Downhill skiing is the core focus of the ski camp—the kids can expect to spend at least five thrilling days on the slopes each week.
The standard seven-day package includes professional coaching, a 5-day ski pass, six days of full room and board at Mountain Lodge, all local transportation, round-the-clock supervision, and all extra activities.
Private lessons are available for a reasonable additional fee. Lovell Camps offers discounted equipment hire through its local partners.
Activities
Optional morning language classes allow students to hone their linguistic skills. And the fun doesn’t stop come sundown, thanks to exciting communal activities like movie nights and games.
At the end of each week, a special ski race sees campers carve up the slopes and show off their fine-tuned alpine skills.
Then, on the weekend, boarding campers go on an excursion to visit iconic Swiss destinations such as Montreux, Interlaken or Bern.
