1. Rasoi by Vineet at Mandarin Oriental

This 1 Michelin star restaurant created by the acclaimed Chef Vineet Bhatia offers – without a doubt – the best Indian haute cuisine in Geneva; and maybe even Switzerland! Its delectable à la carte and vegetarian gourmand menus fusion traditional recipes with innovative techniques to create spectacular combinations that leave your taste buds tingling. The chic atmosphere is equally breath-taking.

Top tip: If you are eating with a large group of people, the restaurant has a private dining room for up to 12 people where you can enjoy a more intimate gastronomic experience.

2. Arabesque Restaurant

Housed in the prestigious 5 star Hôtel President Wilson, this Bib Gourmand Lebanese restaurant is ideal for a business meeting or a romantic meal thanks to its exquisite Middle East decoration and delectable Lebanese dishes; worth 14 Gault Millau points and considered the best in the city! Only certified halal meat is served on their à la carte and seasonal menus and gluten-free dishes can be served upon request.

Top tip: If you’ve never had Lebanese cuisine before, we recommend you to share one of the menus between 2 people or simply ask the maître for suggestions; you won’t be disappointed!

3. Baroush

Quirky decoration, friendly staff, groovy live music and tasty food make this exotic restaurant near Geneva’s city centre one of our favourites. Its fusion cuisine features mouthwatering Lebanese and Moroccan delicacies and only certified halal meat is served. In fact, 80% of the products used in their succulent dishes are from French and Swiss producers. They also prepare Ramadan menus and we love them for this!

Top tip: If you are a fan of Shisha – or would like to give it a try – the Baroush has a charming room dedicated to this traditional art. The pipes are all prepared by a Shisha master.

4. Sofram

Don’t let the exterior of this quaint restaurant fool you, if you want to taste fresh and authentic Turkish food you’ve come to the right place. The chef’s specialties include grilled halal meat and fish as well as the always delicious mezze; if you are visiting with friends, we recommend you to start your meal with a mixed appetizer platter to try them. For meat lovers, the Sofram brochette with lamb, chicken and beef is a must. No alcohol is served.

Top tip: On hot summer days, be sure to ask for a table in the garden or the back terrace. Or instead, order takeaway and enjoy your meal in the nearby Park Beaulieu.

5. Le Diwane

This charming Lebanese restaurant is a short walk away from Geneva railway station and Quai du Mont Blanc; making it a great place to say farewell to this wonderful city or take a break from sightseeing. The menu offers a great variety of hearty meat and vegetarian dishes and the atmosphere is always inviting; don’t be surprised if you keep coming back during your stay! The only downside though is that it opens late - from 11:30 to 2pm & from 9pm to 11pm.

Top tip: It can get very busy in the evenings. In order to avoid disappointment we recommend you to book beforehand or order takeaway instead if your hotel is located nearby.

6. Salsabeel

Located just a few steps from the UN Headquarters, this Pakistani and Indian restaurant is ideal for lunch with co-workers or a night out with friends. Spices compliment traditional recipes served in generous portions and watered with refreshing mango lassi. If you are a fan of samosas like us, you will find theirs are deliciously crunchy! For your peace of mind, only certified halal meat is used in their cuisine.

Top tip: The Salsabeel is most famous for its Biryani, a traditional Indian dish made with spices, rice and meat or vegetables.

7. Hafez

One of the oldest Persian restaurants in Geneva, it is also considered the best thanks to its home-style food and warm hospitality. The atmosphere is not as lively as one would expect from a Middle East restaurant but it’s perfect for a relaxed night out in the city. Their most recommended dish is the kebab – which you can order with rice or salad as a side – and the day menu.

Top tip: For a unique dessert with exotic flavours, try the saffron pistachio ice cream.
