Location Location

The Brillantmont Summer Course takes place at the school’s campus in Lausanne, a gorgeous Swiss city on the shores of Lake Geneva.

The elegant campus is comprised of several early 20th century edifices that ooze old-world charm. Sleek boarding rooms sleep the happy campers, while state-of-the-art classrooms ensure language lessons go off without a hitch. Stunning Swiss Alps views, beautifully manicured gardens, and a slew of swanky sporting facilities complete the package. The school is 45 minutes from Geneva Airport.

School Info School Info

Brillantmont is an international co-ed day and boarding school that offers a UK and US Diploma Programme. The Summer Course runs from July 1st to August 12th and requires a minimum stay of two weeks. Students who aren’t enrolled at Brillantmont School are welcome to attend.

Summer Programs Summer Programs

The study component of this sought-after summer course is language lessons, either English or French. Students study the language of their choice each morning over two periods, the first focusing on grammar and the second on oral fluency. Impromptu trips to the Lausanne markets let participants practice their skills in a real-world setting. Each Friday, students sit a mini-exam to measure progress. Teachers provide a certificate at the end of the course and bespoke advice on how to further hone linguistic skills. Both programmes are suitable for any skill level.

Activities Activities

After the morning language classes are done, the fun starts.

Every weekday afternoon except Wednesday, students enjoy a thrilling multisports programme with peers of the same gender and similar age. Banana boat trips and stand-up paddleboarding take place on the glistening lake, while an array of land-lubber activities occur on campus—think tennis, football, Frisbee, uni hockey, trampoline, and more.

If your child isn’t all that athletic, they can swap two multisports afternoons per week for creative pursuits (painting, photography, sculpture, etc.) or French writing and literature tuition. For future Grand Slam Champions, there’s also an intensive tennis programme run by a passionate professional coach.

Come nighttime, games and activities keep everyone entertained, including bowling, quizzes, movie nights, and ice skating. A Friday night disco sees students farewell their newfound chums at the conclusion of the camp.

On Wednesdays, students embark on an excursion to an exciting nearby attraction. The trip could be anything from a chocolate factory to a university or a traditional Swiss castle, and students get ample opportunity to practice their language skills. In the afternoon, the whole group gathers by the lake for a barbeque and games.

Weekends are meant to be fun, and students will adore these exciting excursions. Saturday trips entail aquariums, museums, or perhaps a quick stint to Geneva or Berne. Sundays involve a whole-school excursion to walk on glaciers, climb trees, explore caves, or hike through forested hills.
